I have a deep rooted love for this company. Rewind to 10 years ago my brother and I in Florida opening our first salon, Mode Salon. We came from from a natural product line foundation. This product line had strong business practices and a heavy educational background. We decided to step out and create our own space. Upon taking all the steps it was time to find a product line and naturally we chose who we grew up as stylists with. We found that we weren't able to carry this product line because of the systems in place that the compnay abided by. Crushed, Lonie and I set out to find something that would fit. I stumbled across Davines and immediately fell head over heels with them. It's funny even today I still speak like they are a first love, because they are. The thing that is so special about this company is they operate like a family because they are a family. They continue to be ran as a family owned and operated company. Even though they are all over the world, and as big as they are they feel close to your heart. I fell for them because of everything they have done and are doing. They believe in saving the world through beauty. That's something I stand behind 100%.

Are you a curly girl?

I am a Deva certified stylist.

I wanted to share with you the "Deva way" to style your curls/waves.

Step1 ~ While shampooing - scrub only your scalp. When using a cowashor a non lathering shampoo be sure you scrub out as well, Scrub in and scrub out.

Step 2 ~ Apply conditioner to pony tail area and work through to the ends, keep in mind this is the time to comb through to release naturally shed hair and to comb out knots. 

Step 3 ~ Take sections of curls ( curl families) and with fingers pull scetions to form natural curl.  The main goal here is to form those natural curls / waves.

Step 3 ~ Rinse , Be sure to lower the pressure of the water to a trickle , this is to prevent all that work of forming the curls from breaking apart.

Step 4 ~ Rinse contioner about 90% out ofthe hair, this is if your using a conditoner formulated for this, such as Deva one          conditioner. 

Step 5 ~ Flip hair forward , apply your product to surfaces of hair.

Step 6 ~ cup and squeeze hair to remove excess water and use a microfiber towel to also remove water. ( Don't scrunch)

Step 7 ~ Flip hair and move hair to your part or where you'dlike your hair to be styled, Apply clips for volume. 

Step 8 ~ Let dry naturally or use a diffuser on your blowdryer.

Step 9 ~ Soften your look by ruffling the root area and softening the ends that may have curl locked from products.

BOOM !!! You have  Georgeous Curly Hair !!!!!

Other tips ....

1. Once hair is dry please don't comb through or brush, this causes frizz curl to unform.

2. Using a microfiber towel prevents frizzy hair. I prefer this over a tshirt.

3. Applying products on the ends and surface of the hair prevents frizz.

4. Before applying your products be sure to rub products evenly on hands to get even distribution on to hair.

5. Scrubbing your shampoo out helps to remove all shedded hair and shampoo debrit for a clean foundation.

6. Use products that are sulfate free as the other shampoos dry out curly girl hair, I reccommend Deva products or Davines love curling products.

7. Flip the clip! Instead of applying the Deva clips straight onto the hair, flip the clip on its side for a more secure and easier way to apply.

8. I reccommend leaving 10% of Deva one condition in while rinsing , watch the water turn from milky white to a light hazey color. This is for additional moisture and frizz free hair.
